About Us
Over the years, I have determined some favorite
products that I enjoy using when sewing. Below are some recommendations of
my favorites with an explanation. I will be adding to this list in the
future, so be sure to check back and see what has made my
"favorites" list.
My Favorite Threads
| My favorite threads are Weeks Dye Works (WDW) sewing thread on the spool (labeled as quilting thread. It is 40wt cotton thread.) or 28wt AURIfil cotton thread. WDW doesn’t have many colors available in their quilting thread line. If you can find the correct color in this thread, by all means use it. It is hand dyed just like all of their other thread and is so beautiful on the hand dyed wool. I have found that many earth toned pieces can be appliquéd with the browns they have available. For instance, I stitch burnt orange and brown wools with their Chestnut color and moss green wool with their Cocoa color with beautiful results. If there is not a matching color from WDW or if I need solid colors, AURIfil’s 28wt cotton thread is hands down the best thread for machine blanket stitching. It makes the most beautiful stitch. If you prefer to appliqué by hand, 2 strands of WDW floss is the most beautiful on wool. |
